Jenny provides editing services for fiction and non-fiction manuscripts at all stages of the writing process, from conception to final draft. She offers two primary services:

  • One-time reviews consist of a thorough reading of the manuscript and 10 pages of comments about the work's strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the author's needs, these comments may include questions about tone and style, structure and organization, audience, purpose, and individual chapter break-downs.
  • Developmental editing integrates the questions of one-time reviews and may also include reorganizing paragraphs or chapters, rewriting sections for clarity, and adjusting tone to strengthen the author's voice. Jenny also invites authors who are in the early stages of planning a project to query with outlines, unfinished manuscripts, or shorter texts.

For other needs, including ghostwriting, copyediting and proofreading, please query.

All work is done closely in conjunction with authors, and clients retain complete control over which edits they choose to keep. Jenny offers a free sample edit of two pages or a free consultation, no strings attached, to potential clients. Payment can be based on an hourly rate or a project rate, determined by the quantity of work and level of detail. If working on an hourly rate, caps can be provided for budget purposes.

Past editorial projects include:
  • Peace First: A New Model to End War (Uri Savir, 2008)
  • Crunch: If the Economy's Doing So Well, Why Do I Feel So Squeezed? (And Other Unsolved Economic Mysteries) (Jared Bernstein, 2008)
  • A Game As Old As Empire (ed. Steve Hiatt, 2007)
  • Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (John Perkins, 2005)
